It all began with Paco — a clever, spirited Amazon parrot who was part of our family. He had such a personality: playful, curious, and full of heart. I always said his story needed to be shared!

That love doesn’t have to live in just one home. Paco’s story shows children that even when life changes — when we move, grow up, or say goodbye for a while — love finds a way to follow us. Families come in all shapes, and hearts can stretch farther than wings.

It’s an incredible feeling. I tell my students every day to believe in themselves and follow their dreams. Now I get to show them I’m doing the same thing!

Kindness, curiosity, and the courage to keep believing in good things. Paco reminded me every day that love, in any form, makes life brighter — and that’s what I hope children remember long after they close the book.
